What Is Up-Cycled Wood?

Up-cycled wood is wood that was taken from trees which needed to be removed for crowding, disease, damage, or land management purposes. This means that no trees were cut down for the sole reason of harvesting their wood. Up-cycled wood can also be already milled boards from a previous built structure which are reclaimed and reused for a new purpose.
Why Use Up-Cycled Wood?

Up-cycled wood is a great way to combat damaging practices such as deforestation and wood waste. Since all of our wood comes from trees that have been removed for a specific reason, we are not tempted to over harvest and destroy forests. In addition, up-cycled wood has a rich history, a story behind the wood find. A furniture piece that will carry that story for generations.
Where Does Our Up-Cycled Wood Come From?

All of our up-cycled wood is from Wisconsin. While most of it comes from Arington Tree Farm itself, some comes from local area residents and businesses looking to dispose of trees for future use and purpose.
